"For the first time in over 30 years we postponed a race due to weather.
Our 1/2 marathon and 5K will be held this coming Saturday on the same
time frame as it was to be on last Sat. Folks can register at

__/ BOB PARKS NAMED TO EASTERN MICHIGAN'S COLLEGE OF
EDUCATION HALL OF FAME
Eastern Michigan's long-time track and cross country coach has been a
member of the University's Athletic Hall of Fame since 1995. On March
28, the University's College of Education inducted Parks into it's Alumni
Hall of Fame.
"Bob Parks was a middle distance runner at EMU during his collegiate
years, following which he coached at Ferndale, Dewitt, and Redford
Thurston high schools. He was an assistant coach at WMU for six years.
Parks came to EMU in 1967. He led EMU track and cross-country teams
to 48 MAC titles and six NAIA/NCAA crowns during that time. He was
named MAC "coach of the year" 28 times, NCAA Regional "coach of the
year" eight times, and was named once as national "coach of the year."
At least eight of his athletes completed in the Olympics, including Hasely
Crawford, gold medalist in the 100-meter dash in the 1976 games and
Earl Jones, bronze medalist in the 800-meter run in 1984. Parks retired
as coach and professor of HPERD in 2001. The EMU indoor track is
named in his honor.

Saturday April 19th (12:30-5pm) in Sault Ste Marie, MI.
"The clinic is open to middle & high school athletes & teams as well as
coaches. The clinic will follow the Cabin Fever 5K and kids races that
are taking place at 9am. In between the two activities, there will be time
for lunch and a little relaxing if you are doing both events.
This is a good time to meet other coaches or athletes and to gain some
