__/ ELLEN'S RACE SAYS GOODBYE
We're sad to hear that last Sunday's Ellen's Race is to be its last after 10
years. This popular East Lansing race has honored the life of Ellen
Osborn, who died when she was a 4th grader at Pinecrest Elementary
School. Her parents, Gerald Osborn and Sue Granger, have moved to
Missouri. Michigan Runner writer Charles Douglas McEwen reports that
Ellen's Race has raised close to $140,000 to support Ellen's Place, (a
Lansing center for grieving children), Pinecrest school and the Michigan
Capitol Girl Scouts.
__/ PART IV: DOUG KURTIS MARATHON TRAINING SERIES:
SUPPORT GROUPS
Doug Kurtis tells us how valuable support groups can be for successful
marathon training. Part IV of the twelve part series is sponsored by
Running Fit (http://runningfit.com). Doug's training charts are suitable for
First Timers, Intermediate, Advanced, and Ace marathoners. http://
michiganrunner.tv/2003marathon/.
