Great Race XXIV
Art McCafferty July 2004 Michigan Runner
ELKHART INDIANA (5/29/04 - 5/31/04) -- Basketball, swimming,
running, walking, cycling, canoeing, kayaking, in-line skating, hand
cycles, wheelchairs, tennis, rowing, beach volleyball, dancing,
competing, walking the dog, smiling, laughing, sweating, exerting,
eating, sleeping and loving every minute of it are the elements that
make up the 33 events of the Great Race. It is certainly one of the most
interesting three day events we have in our country. The Great Race
XXIV is produced and sponsored by the citizens and corporate world
that make up Amish Country in Indiana. Amish Country in Indiana,
includes the communities of Goshen, Middlebury, Elkhart and
Nappanee and lots of horses and carriages. There are so many competitors, volunteers, sponsors and competitive
site locations, that the best we can do here is to show you a few pictures
and then direct you to all the action on video at http://michiganrunner.tv/
2004greatrace/index.html. Once you get to that page, you will be
seeing, hearing and experiencing the 24th running of the Great Race
XXIV. Check out all the results and the info for next year at http://
thegreatrace.net. MR
