__/ QUOTE OF THE WEEK (ABOUT RICHARD CHENAULT) - "I felt I had made a connection with him over the last three years. Every time I accelerated, I felt a push by him, When we came out of a hard turn, we could hear his voice encouraging us." -- Kristen Goncalves, Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard High School track team, talking about Coach Richard Chenault, quoted by Mick McCabe, Detroit Free Press, June 6, 2007, Section D, p. 1. Concalves anchored the winning D3, 4 x 400 relay team, which set a meet record and gave the team 2nd place at the June 1 MHSAA LP Finals-- its best finish ever.

-- PLYMOUTH FATHER'S DAY RUN,PLYMOUTH, SUNDAY, JUNE 17 - Competitors who are looking for a new kind of challenge can look to the Plymouth Father's Day run. Yes, there is a typcal 10K, 5K and a not-so-typical 1 Mile. The challenge is in the timing; these races are set up so that you can run all three. Times are totaled to name the winner of the Triple. You don't have to win all three to win that Triple, but last year, Monroe's Rebekah Smeltzer did the Triple by winning all three. Kids races are part of the day. Proceeds from the race will benefit the Plymouth YMCA's "Strong Kids" scholarship program which insures no child is turned away from a YMCA program because of inability to pay. Events begin at 7:30 am. The 10K is part of the Michigan Runner Race Series. Register Online: http://gaultracemanagement.com
