__/ DICK BEARDSLEY TO VISIT PLAYMAKERS FRIDAY EVENING, SEPTEMBER 28 - Do yourself a favor and go meet Dick Beardsley at Playmakers in Okemos Friday evening. Dick is the marathoner who gave Alberto Salazar the race of his life in the famous 1982 Boston Marathon, Duel in the Sun. Dick is a great storyteller and he has the Duel in the Sun story, but that's not all. If a cat has nine lives, then Dick must be part kitty; he's survived more close calls than most of us can imagine.

Me neither, until Brian Jones of Playmakers explained the many properties of the Smartwool line of base layers. Wool is great for traveling, doesn't itch, doesn't retain odor and wicks moisture away in cold, warm, wet, and dry weather conditions. __/ MEET BOAZ CHEBIOYWO AT ROAD RUNNING EMUS 5K, SATURDAY, OCTOBER 6. - The Running Of The Emus 5k will be 10 AM, Saturday, October 6, at Eastern Michigan's new student Union, 900 Oakwood Road, in Ypsilanti. The run is hosted by Eastern Michigan's running club The Road Running Emu's. Two time NCAA champion and Eastern Alumni Boaz Cheboiwu will be attending the race for participants to meet.
