Now in its 10th year, this event features the interior trails of Mackinac Island and a post-race pasta party. If Island scenery weren't enough, everyone can join in the Island's celebration of Halloween on the last open weekend of the season. This year, the registration includes an embroidered camel quarter zip fleece. Races start at 11:30, Saturday, Online registration is open at http:// www.runmackinac.com.

__/ THE PACE RACE, AUBURN HILLS, SUNDAY, OCT. 30- The PACE Race 5K Run / Walk Series was launched in 2002 as a method for the Prostate Cancer Education Council (PCEC) to increase national awareness of prostate cancer. Michigan Runner TV Executive Producer Art McCafferty and Video Editor, Katie Jones, have been bustin' this week so we'll have lots of fun stuff to watch:

-- NIAGARA FALLSVIEW CASINO RESORT INTERNATIONAL MARATHON -The first three shows are online: Saturday's Friendship Run, Pasta Dinner and Friday's VIP. Look for Katherine Switzer, Jeff Galloway, Alan Brookes, Mike and Shelly Zajczenko, John Stanton and Captain Canada. We'll announce more shows next week. http:// michiganrunner.tv/2005niagara/

-- DETROIT FREE PRESS / FLAGSTAR BANK MARATHON - Olympian Tim Broe hosts Michigan Runner TV's coverage. We begin this week with the 5K and the Marathon Start. With more than 13,000 participants, it took two separate shows to get everone across the starting line.

http://michiganrunner.tv/2005detroit/

-- SCOTIABANK TORONTO WATERFRONT MARATHON - Saturday's Friendship Run, an interview with Running Room's John Stanton, a look at Ontario's new Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training group with Christy Holtby and John "The Penquin" Bingham, and scenes from Toronto are all online.

__/ CLINT VERRAN TO PACE RYAN SHAY IN ING NEW YORK CITY MARATHON--A couple of Michigan's best marathoners will team up for next month's New York City Marathon. Clint Verran (2005 World Marathon Championship Team, 5th at 2004 Olympic Marathon Trials) made headlines during the LaSalle Bank Chicago Marathon by running as an escort for the lead woman, who happened to be Olympic Bronze Medalist Deena Kastor. Clint will use his skills as an extremely consistent marathoner to pace Ryan Shay's second effort in the New York classic. Shay set his personal best 2:14:08 at New York in 2004 and will take on a field that includes world-record holder Paul Tergat and Olympic silver medalist Meb Keflezighi.

__/ MRN ON THE ROAD

-- DETROIT--We congratulate Pat Ball and her team (Bob Smith, Joe Baldwin, Doug Kurtis, Bill Ewing and hundreds more) for a wildly successful and truly world-class event. More than 13,000 ran, walked or wheeled in the marathon, half-marathon, marathon relay and 5K. We also thank the Michigan Runner team: editor Scott Sullivan, TV host Tim Broe, contributors Doug McEwen, Tom Henderson, Carter Sherline, and, especially, James Sherline, who made sure everyone at the expo got a complimentary issue of Michigan Runner magazine.

-- NIAGARA FALLS, ONTARIO--Jim and Ruth Ralston teamed up with the Fallsview Casino Resort to bring back one of North America's classic races. The Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort Marathon is an international event which starts in Buffalo, New York and finishes in Niagara Falls, Ontario. The absolutely terrific expo featured Katherine Switzer, Roger Robinson, Sylvia Ruegger, John Stanton, a Brooks fashion show, and a crowd-drawing Irish step-dancing team. Marathoners were treated to a wonderful place to wait after the bus ride to the start: the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo's Delaware Park, featuring an exhibit of contemporary Chinese art and music for the occasion by a harp and flute duo. __/ MICHIGAN RUNNER RACE SERIES: DETROIT FREE PRESS / FLAGSTAR BANK MARATHON RESULTS
