============================== MRN ON THE ROAD, NEW YORK CITY ============================== No words can convey the conflicting emotions at last Saturdays U.S. Olympic Team Trials - Men's Marathon: we celebrated Dathan Ritzenhein and Brian Sell's accomplishments in racing their way onto the Beijing-bound Olympic team. At the same time we cried in stunning disbelief at the news of Ryan Shay's death during the race. We offer our heartfelt condolences to the Shay family and to Alicia Shay, Ryan's bride of four months.

========================================== HOW THE MICHIGAN FIELD FARED AT THE TRIALS ========================================== NEW YORK CITY (November 3, 2007) -- Ryan Hall (2:09:02) ran the fastest Olympic Team Trials race in U.S. history to earn a place on the U.S. Olympic team and $60,000. Hall made the trials win look easy; he threw in splits of 4:32, 4:41, and 4:34 in miles 18 - 20. Hall, Second place Dathan Ritzenhein and 3rd place Brian Sell each earn an additional $20,000 training stipend which will be paid post-Beijing.
