__/ ROSEVILLE'S BIG BIRD CELEBRATES 26TH, SUNDAY,
NOVEMBER 14, 2004
Race Director Tony Lipinski and the Roseville Parks and Rec
Department know how to put on a really fun race. The high school band,
the friendly volunteers, the fast course with the I696 pedestrian bridge to
make it interesting, and the big birds themselves are some of the
reasons that this race gets repeat runners year after year. The big birds
are lots of turkeys raffled off after the race. The 10K Run, 4 Mile Run,
and 1 Mile Run/Walk begin at 10:00 am.

__/ MRN ON THE ROAD: BROOKLYN, MICHIGAN
Perfect weather certainly helped the festive mood at the Michigan
International Speedway in the Irish Hills. John Johnson, Michigan High
School Athletic Association's Communication Director and his crew did
a great job taking care of the media. Announcers David Mitchell, Scott
Hubbard and Mike Timms demonstrated again that Michigan has the
best-informed running announcers in the business. We congratulate the
hundreds of athletes who ran their hearts out and the coaches who wore
out their voices cheering on their runners. For both Upper and Lower
Peninsula results see http://mhsaa.com

__/ RUN HALF MARATHONS IN HALF THE STATES - HALF-2-RUN
Running Fit stores have an idea for those of us who like the
half-marathon distance and also like to travel: Half 2 Run. We can keep
track of the half-marathons we've completed, find half-marathons to run,
find half-marathons recommended by other members, find training tips,
and so on. The model is similar to the 50 State Marathoners club, but is
more accessible to those of us who can't manage the more-demanding
travel and marathon training schedules. Check it out at http://
halftorun.com.
