__/ GREG MEYER APPEARS TONIGHT, HANSONS RUNNING SHOP, ROYAL OAK - The Hansons Running With The Legends series continues this evening with Greg Meyer. Greg is a Michigan Legend who has won among other races, the Detroit Free Press Marathon, The River Bank Run 7 times, and was the last American male to win a small little race held in Boston for the last 112 years. Greg went to high school in Grand Rapids and graduated from the University of Michigan. Greg is currently heavily involved with the promotion of the Fifth-Third River Bank run where he serves as the Elite Athlete Coordinator. Mr Meyer will be joining the group for an 8 mile run at 6:30PM and will speak following the run. When: May 3rd Where: Royal Oak Running Shop 6:30pm (after the run)

Cliffs???? For years, the popular Dances with Dirt trail ultras and relays have sold out. Now, Running Fit is taking this popular event on the road to Gnaw Bone, Indiana-- just south of Indianapolis. If you've missed out on the DWD in Hell, Michigan, you can still register for the 100K team relay, 50K ultra or 50 mile ultra. Events are in Brown County State Park.

-- FIFTH THIRD RIVER BANK RUN, SATURDAY, MAY 12 - Michigan's annual Rite of Spring is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. If you are in shape to run the 25K (15.5 miles) this is the year. Prize money and the 25K USATF championship attrack many of the world's best distance runners. If you prefer shorter distances, the 5K run and walk is one of Michigan's largest, with over 4,400 participants in 2006.

-- FOREST CITY ROAD RACES, LONDON, ONTARIO, SUNDAY MAY 13, 2007 - We like the comment posted on http://marathonguide.com from a Paw Paw, Michigan runner: "The course was wonderful - a varied run in neighborhoods, park space, and the paved bike trail. Enough enthusiastic people were out to keep you going, and the water stops were well run also. Great organization to run so many races at once and never have any confusion as to where to go - I ran the lonely 3:15 to 3:20 pace mostly by myself and never was confused on where to go. Great traffic control, and I have to thank the wonderful woman at mile 24 who actually had a choice of ice-cold popsikles for runners. Great city, great small race, great course."

__/ JEFF GALLOWAY COMES TO RUNNING FIT, NORTHVILLE, JUNE 6, 2007 - Jeff Galloway will be doing a book signing and meet & greet on Wednesday, June 6th from 5 - 7 PM, at the Northville Running Fit. This visit with Jeff Galloway will also be a kick off to the Jeff Galloway Half Marathon Training Program Running Fit will be offering. If you are considering running your first half marathon this fall, this will be a great group to get you there. The Galloway program is a run/walk program that can get anyone to the finish line. __/ MRN ON THE ROAD - HILLSDALE - Hillsdale College "Gina" Relays are getting bigger and better. This year marked the 41st annual track and field meet. We saw professionals; amateurs; college athletes from NCAA Divisions I, II and III; and community college athletes competing in the same events with surprising results and lots of qualifying times for regional and national meets. We saw loud, enthusiastic spectators throughout. Many spectators saw their first sub- four mile-- when Olympian Nick Willis paced Olympian Rob Meyers to the 3:59.27 win. Former world-record holder Henry Rono graciously signed autographs and spoke with fans for hours.

We note that Hillsdale "Gina" men's 10,000 meter race on Friday night was faster than the men's 10,000 meter races at either the Penn Relays or the Drake Relays. (Stanford's Payton Jordan 10,000 was the fastest of the weekend.)

Our kudos go to Hillsdale Head Coach Bill Lundberg, Assistant Coaches Andy Towne, Sara Monteleone, Jeff Forino, Sarah Hinkley, Michael Nikkila, Meet Director Brad Fairchild (Eastern Michigan), and many volunteer officials. Michign Runner TV is editing hours of video will begin to appear in a few days. We'll have shows on the WYLD Bill 5K, interviews with Henry Rono and Gary Wolfram, decathlon and heptathlon, sprints, hurdles, relays, jumps, throws, steeplechase, 10,000, 5,000, and middle distance events.
