Saturday is your chance to run with Olympic Bronze Medalist Brian Diemer at Brian's 15th annual 5K. $500 in prize money goes to the first place open and, in a welcome and unusual difference, t o the masters winners, too. Prize money goes 10 deep in th e open division, 5 deep in the masters division. The 5K race and 5K fun walk begin at 9:00 am in Cutlerville and are immediately followed by the C utlerville Days parade. The 5K run is the 2004 Michigan Runner Race Series 5K. - MACKINAC ISLAND LILAC RUN, SATURDAY, JUNE 12

The first of John and Anne Gault's three Mackinac Island rac es is Saturday. The Mackinac Island Lilac Festival 10K begins at Windemere Point at 9:30 am. The 10K run or walk takes you uphill through the wooded center of the island and finishes on the shore road. Michigan college athletes could take individual titles at the N CAA Championships this weekend. We spoke yesterday with Mic higan's Andrew Ellerton, who has the second fastest qualifying time in the 8 00 meter run. Ellerton says he's on a roll and thinks he can add the N CAA title to the Big 10 and Mideast titles he won earlier this season.
