__/ HANSONS BEGIN WOMEN'S OLYMPIC DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM Kevin Hanson reports that Hansons will be starting a woman's program. Qualifications for consideration are 16:15 5k or 33:45 10k. Women meeting these qualifications and accepted will be provided free housing, free health insurance, free coaching, free equipment, free travel to competitions and cash performance bonuses. Any interested candidates can email Kevin at hansonsodp@aol.com. http://hansons- running.com."

__/ DOUG KURTIS MARATHON TRAINING BEGINS ON MICHIGAN RUNNER TV Running Network TV launches a new twelve part marathon training series with Doug Kurtis, the world record holder of 40 marathon wins and 76 sub 2:20 marathons. Each week for twelve weeks, Doug will appear in a new show, providing different tips about training for a successful marathon. Timed to lead up to the Detroit Free Press/Flagstar Bank Marathon on October 5, 2003, the series can used for twelve weeks leading up to any marathon.

Also, Doug provide mileage charts for different levels of marathoners: First Timers, Intermediate, Advanced, and Ace . http://michiganrunner.tv/ 2003marathon/

__/ KEWEENAW TRAIL RUNNING FESTIVAL IS A TEST AND A DELIGHT, JULY 12-13 It's time to head up to the Upper Peninsula for the Keweenaw Trail Running Festival, a test and a delight according to Tom Henderson. Remember, says Tom, "The Trail Festival is a journey, not a destination. "The festival. . . is Jeff Crumbaugh's brainchild: a two-day, three race test that he says combines courses that, in turn, demand speed, strength and endurance," continues Tom in the September/October 2002 Michigan Runner.

Come for the 10K over forest trails in McLain State Park Saturday morning, Saturday night's 5.8K hill climb from the sandy beach at Egle Harbor to the top of Mt. Lookout, or for Sunday morning's 25K through Swedetown Creek Gorge. http://keweenawtrails.com.
