This 5 mile trail run at Pinckney Recreation Area, 9:00 am, is a hash style run

-- one of hundreds of Go-Get Outdoors events taking place in State Parks around Michigan on July 23. No timing, goofy post-race snacks, beginner or advanced routes, and mugs to the first 144 entrants are part of the adventure. If you'd like to sample the famous Dances with Dirt trails, Embrace the Dirt is your chance. http://runningfit.com/ embracethedirt.cfm. Go-Get Outdoors events:

Looking for a way to cool off or for a new race to try? Check out the Rudyard Summerfest 5K, The 5K is run in conjunction with the first leg of the Rudyard Summerfest Triathlon in a reverse format (run-bike- swim(pool). Rudyard is in Michigan's beautiful Eastern Upper Peninsula, about 30 miles north of the Mackinac Bridge. This is a good distance if you are new to triathlons; the bike ieg is 25K and the swim is 1/2K. For more information, contact Tom or Kris Piippo, tkpiippo@sault.com or (906) 478-5541.

In a terrific breakthrough, the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) will Webcast the World Championships. Fifty-plus hours of live coverage will also be webcast on a pay-per-view (all for $14.95 or $3.00/day) basis at http://www.wcsn.com, the Web site of the World Championship Sports Network (WCSN), with the site to launch in late July.

All material on http://wcsn.com will be archived, so fans can view the action from Helsinki at any time - including live, during the World Championships from August 6-14. USATF has also arranged broadcast coverage on the PAX Network and on Comcast Regional Sports Network. PAX schedule:

Highlights were campfire on Cattle Creek in Colorado, raft trip on the Roaring Fork River, runs along Roaring Fork River trails-- complete with "cow pies" on the trail, and Elephant Head Lodge near Yellowstone.

Nate Brannen (Cambridge, ON/Michigan/Reebok) finished in second, just a tick behind Sullivan in 3:48.33, but has not been named to the Canadian team.
