The marathon and half-marathon race videos show the beautiful race course which feature the North Saskatchewan River valley. The McDonalds Kids Marathon Mile is fun to watch; check for the kid carrying a shoe and another kid losing a shoe close to the finish line. http://michiganrunner.tv/2006ingedmonton/

__/ MICHIGAN RUNNER TV: CRIM FESTIVAL OF RACES - We begin video coverage of the Crim Festival of Races with a full 7 minutes of the 10 Mile Start. Look for drubblers (yes, more than one) at the end of the 10 Mile pack. Additional shows are in-process: 10 Mile, Legends of the Crim, Kids Races, Walks including USATF 5K State Championship, 8K Run, 5K Run, Starts of wheelers, blind runners & 30 year runners, Music of the Crim, Interview with Crim Foundation CEO Gerry Myers, and more. http://michiganrunner.tv/2006crim/ __/ LABOR DAY 30K, 30K RELAY & 10K, MILFORD, SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 2 - The Huron Valley Running Club hosts the perfect Fall Marathon Tune- up Race. Don Kern, Grand Rapids Marathon Race Director certified the 30K course in July. Come out and test your speed before your late September, October or November Marathon and join in the fun and adventure. Proceeds will support the Kensington to Milford Hike/Bike Trail Project along with Down Syndrome Awareness.

Michelobe Ultra will be there with swag and beer at the finishing line. Beer mugs this year for age-group winners along with finisher medels for all who complete the beautiful and challenging course in under four hours. 30K begins at 8:00 am at Baker's of Milford Restaurant; 10K run/walk begins at 8:30 am and a new kids' run is at 12:05 pm. The 30K will award prize money 4 deep and the 10K will award prize money for the top three men and women.

Also new this year are "Wheel and Sole", bike and in-line skating events at 5 & 10 mile distances; 25 & 35 skate tours and a 50 mile bike tour.

__/ CADILLAC FESTIVAL OF RACES, MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 4 - The beautiful city of Cadillac has hosted a flat, fast, certified 10K run for 34 years now. A few years ago, a 5K run was added back in 1999 and an adventure triathlon (5KR-12MB-2M Kayak) was added in 2003. The triathlon features the White Pine trail for the bike section and beautiful Lake Cadillac for the kayak leg. There's a kids run, too. Events get underway at 9:00 am, Cadillac Memorial Stadium, Cadillac High School. Downloadable entry form: http://workplacechaplains.us

__/ GOVERNOR'S LABOR DAY BRIDGE RUN, MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 4 - It's too late to run the Mackinac Bridge this year, but not too late to plan for 2007 or to do the traditional Labor Day Walk across the 5 mile span over the Straits of Mackinac. Governor Jennifer Granholm jogged across the beautiful suspension bridge on Labor Day, 2003-- opening the way for this new Labor Day tradition for Michigan residents.

__/ PARK FOREST SCENIC 10 MILE, MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 4 - If you are thinking "road trip" for Labor Day weekend and you'd like to put that 10 mile fitness to good use, think about the Park Forest Scenic 10 Mile (and 5K) in Park Forest Illinois, 30 miles south of Chicago. The Chicago Area Runners Association gave this race its "Best Race Award" in 2005. You can still register online through 5:00 pm today. No race day registration.

__/ BILL RODGERS TO APPEAR AT RACE FOR REASON, SEPTEMBER 10 -- This is Bill Rodgers' season to visit Michigan. Bill ran the Crim 10 Mile and participated in the Legends of the Crim panel last Friday. If you missed him there, you can catch him at the 4th annual Race for Reason 5K on Sunday, September 10. The Race for Reason raises funds for diabetes research. The race course is through beautiful Nichols Arboretum in Ann Arbor and fees are affordable. Start is 9:00 am at the Burton Memorial Tower on the University of Michigan campus. Prize money goes to the top 5 in the open division and top 2 in the masters division.

__/ MRN ON THE ROAD - FLINT - Too many Crim Festival of Races highlights to mention, but here are a few:

* Crim Kids Invitational-- double the number of last years entrants. Lots of speedy kids going against the national trend of kid couch potatoes.

* Legends of the Crim (Bill Rodgers, Greg Meyer, Steve Kenyon, Herb Lindsay) moderated by former WFUM broadcaster Jim Gaver.

* Michelle Dvorak (aka "cat woman") riding her bicycle "sag wagon" at the Crim Kids Invitational, in her trademark leopard-print outfit. Check out http://trashycat.com for the source.

* Howard Myers, the blind runner who ran tethered to Bobby Crim in an early 10 Mile-- this time tethered to (the very same) Michelle Dvorak.

* Scott Hubbard's terrific job calling the finish line for the 25th year. Scott brought home the leader's speed: "Just try running 100 meters on the track at 4:41 pace."

* Joe Thornnburg, 90 next month, finishing the 8K run in 1:16:12.

* Art McCafferty, out with Michigan Runner TV's video camera: "Everybody in Flint seems to have a number on."

* 30 year Crim runner Riley McLincha had a busy start: singing the national anthem, starting with the other 23 30-year runners, and starting again at the back of the pack drubbling his 3 basketballs and accompanied with several other people drubbling a single basketball.

* Paul Aufdemberge winning the Masters title, 2nd year in a row.

* Krys Brish taking 3rd place in the Masters division.

* Bobby Crim, age 74, finishing in a strong 1:39:55.

* Many young 1 mile runners doubling in the Teddy Bear Trot.

* Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels

* Saturday evening's WFUM broadcast hosted by Jim Gaver and Scott Hubbard.

* Flint Journal's Sunday edition front page photo and headline "Record Race; 30th anniversary shatters records for Crim Festival."
