__/ ARE YOU READY FOR THE 2003 CRIM FESTIVAL OF RACES? -
The Crim Festival of Races is an event like no other. The folks in Flint
have been recognized as one of the "Top 25 Contributors" for putting on
this fabulous festival of running in Michigan. This week's Michigan
Runner TV features the 2002 Crim to help you get ready. - http://

__/ HOME DEPOT SPONSORS CRIM 5K RUN; JEFF GALLOWAY WILL
APPEAR AT EXPO - Flint, MI- The Crim Festival of Races continues to
be a Flint tradition with the generous support of a number of community
minded sponsors. Home Depot, a Crim sponsor of the 5K Run since
1999, has granted funds once again to the Crim as part of their 2003
Fitness Series Events.
Home Depot focuses their charitable contributions toward a number of
community needs such as development and rehabilitation of affordable
housing, programs that serve youth at-risk, environmental programs,
disaster preparedness and community health and fitness issues. And
their philanthropy doesn't stop there- the Home Depot also pays for their
employee's entry fee and special Home Depot orange race t-shirts for
the Crim 5K Run at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 23.
Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Home Depot has developed a special
partnership with Jeff Galloway, wellness consultant, noted author former
Olympic athlete and trainer, who also calls Georgia home. Galloway will
make an appearance at the Home Depot's Booth (#2) at the 2003 Crim
Health and Fitness Expo, August 21-23. The Crim also has an exciting
partnership with Galloway, who designed the 15-week training regimen
known as the Crim Training Program. The Crim Training Program broke
all records this year with 634 participants registered within the program's
four levels.

__/ T WO DOGS RUNNING -Dave Serino wrote to tell us he is training
with a group of runners under the tutelage of Two Dogs Running in Ann
Arbor. Two Dogs Running founder, Kathleen Gina, directs the Michigan
Big 10 and the Rutka 5K director. The other dog is Gina's assistant
Clifford J. Nix. Serino swears by the program and is getting pumped
about running the Detroit Free Press/Flagstar Bank Marathon on
October 5.
__/ MICHIGAN RUNNER RACE SERIES WILL CONTINUE WITH THE
CRIM 10 MILE, AUGUST 23 -Race series events are open to Michigan
residents; you do not have to register with the Michigan Runner to
participate. Each runner's top 10 results will count at the conclusion of
the series. Another way to think about this is that each runner's worst
results will be thrown out. Missing one race will not hurt anyone's
standings.
