Robin Sarris has been named the honoree of the 2004 "For
Women Only 5K Run/Walk" to be held on May 16th. The
honor is reserved for those who have distinguished
themselves through their accomplishments and
contributions to women's running in the Ann Arbor area.Robin's history is impressive. She has been a competitive
distance runner in Michigan for 22 consecutive years. Robin
averages approximately 20 road races per year in distances
from the mile to the marathon. She also runs competitively
in cross country, indoor and outdoor track. Robin ran first
FWO race (held in 1983) during first season as a
competitive runner. Won it in 1984 (5 mi) and competed in
many of the FWO races, finishing in the top 5 several times
(finished 2nd in 2002, 18 years after winning it).
