Arthur Lydiard, the coach's coach from New Zealand, visited Utica and Okemos, Michigan during his United States lecture tour, shortly before his death in Houston, Texas on December 11. Hansons Running Shops and Playmakers sponsored Lydiard's Michigan visits.
