DETROIT (12/31/03) -- The 34th Annual New Year's Eve Family Fun Run and Walk on Belle Isle in Detroit attracted nearly 1,000 runners. Race Director Jeanne Bocci was delighted with the beautiful weather and thanked volunteers as well as event sponsors: St. John Health systems, Hansons Running Stores, Riemer Floors, Tom Waligorski and Michigan Runner.

Richie Brinker and Leigh Daniel of the Hanson-Brooks Distance Program won the 4 mile run. Gary Morgan and Janet Applebaum won the 4 mile walk. Every child in the 1 mile fun run took home a trophy.
