Fifth Third Bank Solstice Run Presented by Comcast Adds 10K

Fifth Third Bank Solstice Run officials Alan Whitehead and Doug Kurtis
announced a new Fifth Third Bank10K race event which will be added
to the 5K run and walk presented by Michigan Radio and Television and
the kids run presented by Foresters. All events are scheduled for
Saturday, June 25, 2005 in Northville, Michigan.The new Fifth Third Bank 10K will add parts of Northville
Township to the historic Northville neighborhoods of the 5K. The Fifth
Third Bank 10K
course will include some rolling hills and courses for both runs are
USATF certified. All events, including the kids run,
will finish at Ford Field in Northville. The 2005 event also plans to a "Taste Fest" which will add to the spirit of
this fun and competitive event. Now in its third year, the post-race music,
and kids games will continue, as will the Comcast broadcast of the
events. Presenting sponsor Comcast will expand its coverage to the
new Comcast local channel which reaches more than 1.3 million homes
in Michigan. Kids' race sponsor Foresters will have medals for every kid
finishing the quarter mile race. Top competition will be an important part of the events, too. Over $3,000
in prize money will be awarded to the top finishers in both the 10K and
5K runs. The 5K is also part of the Michigan Runner Race Series in
which the top three open, master, and senior runners earn points toward
